Anyone had this? A few weeks ago, OH took her mate home after nightshift. Said mate exited the car (Sportka '04) and after a mile or so, OH noticed reflections in the car in front in a queue that the indicators were flashing. She pulled over, called me and I advised her to positively activate the hazard switch on/off a few times (many a car I have owned gave similar fault) "Not that" she says. So No. 1 son goes out to where she is stranded and follows her back home from about 10 miles away - the inds stopped flashing after a couple of miles. So she took it to our local garage (I was at work) and they checked everything and pronounced it may be a dicky door switch. Didn't do it again until half an hour ago then she went to go out and the indicators started to flash again. Gotcha I thought - I'll now sort this mutha. So off she went in my car, and I did some checking. The indicators were flashing for about 30 seconds (yes, it occured to me that this is the normal time for alarms to operate before going off, resetting then starting again) although nothing from the alarm horn. Mmmmm. Also there was a clicking from behind the left rear interior panel - I take it the alarm activator must be behind there? The clicking was completely independent of the hazards, which could be operated normally alongside. After about three 30-second flashing cycles, they would stop and only start again when the ignition was switched on. So out with the handbook - fuses 27 (5A) and 33 (15A) govern the alarm system. So out with the 5A one, no difference. So I activated the dratted flashing again by switching the ign on & off, and while they were flashing removed the 15A fuse - bingo, cured. Twice round the block, car running OK - I (hope) take it that all I have done is to disable the alarm side of the anti-theft & alarm system. As we only have the standard KA manual, I can't dig any deeper as the wiring for the two models is different - the two fuses mentioned are different on the std KA. VEEWY intewesting (as Prof Peach would say)
