thought i would start a thread now that some major work is going to be carried out on my ka, ive owned it nearly 2 years and its my first ever car, used it daily with l plates on to learn to drive in which was quite fun! since i have owned it a lot has changed from being a chav car with lexus lights and stupid wheels to a fun car that is now quite wild! so far from owning it i have changed the speedline 18" wheels to some 16" compomotive mo's had some leda coilovers fitted along with a 300mm front brakes upgrade from a xtype jag with st170 disks, i then got rid of the leather for some corbeau bucket seats with some sparco harnesses at that point i likes how the car was and thought i would strip the inside of all the trim and rear seats, after that my manifold got a hole in it so that was replaced with a miltek 4-2-1 unit with decat and that made quite a difference for a small engine, all was going well untill my mum crashed into the car while it was going to be fixed i decided on a colour change from imperial blue to white, the job was done quite cheap as i didnt have much money but looks o.k, my mate then rolled his 205 gti which had some sparco vtr buckets in it i loved the seats from seeing them as they were so different so i bought them off him! bit of a problem to start with not being able to see much but after a few days i got used to it! after that i resprayed the inside which was still blue and replaced the mo's with some 17" oz superturismo wrc they filled the archs more and seemed to look the part, then i got a spraco roll cage and with the help of a good friend we welded it in thats as it sits now on the drive! apart from a few days a go the headgasket went so that made me make my mind about the car to spend more money on it and finish it properly with a good engine which is what im starting to do tonight hopefully! i will post some pics up later of the car thanks alastair

I have loads of plans for mine which will prolly never get done because I can never seem to find a job so as a result I never have any money!

Don't put me down as a dole scrounger Russ.
I hate not having work and money, just that the job I just ditched was com. only, and now i'm goin ape with the job app's to get something decent.
Mabey get some money to put that carbon bike can on and the head work done, but till i'm sorted i gotta leave the mods for now and keep the money for weed, petrol and food.

The whole look reminds me of the 206 rally cars, you thought about that style of spoiler. I'm not a big fan of putting spoilers on cars, but I do think that if they're done right then it can look ok.
What has that kit done to the high speed charicteristics by the way? The standard Ka bumper is bad enough for trapping air, yours looks like it'd make it even worse for motorway acceleration. Something you notice?

As for me gettin £47 a week (is it that much?) I don't get squat cos I won't register, less of an insentive to get a job if I do, plus I don't think I'd get nowt cos I left the last job volenterily.

i dont want a spolier at all i think it ruins the cars line! as for the front bumper it wont be built for top speed so wont be a problem

Sorry mate, was talking about the back bumper.
I want to mesh most of the back bumper on mine, not for looks cos I think it'll look pretty awfull, but I think it'd make quite a big difference to performance above 60mph.

nah i.6 a lot lighter than the 2 litre as its all alloy, i can pick the engine up and run round with it, compared to the endura that takes 2 to lift!

Oh youre going for the yamaha developed 1.6zetec-s?

Good luck in fitting htat in its a lot harder than a 1.6/8/2.0 escort/mondy engine!

the silvertop range are all pretty similar in weight really as its the same block just different bores/pistons

why is i harder when its smaller? the 2.0 uses a cast iron black same as ka.the engine im using is also a later black top so alot more reliable than the early silver tops
