New Ka interior shots released

New photos of the next generation Ford Ka have been released, and show a new dash, minus the trademark curves which made the Ka famous.

The news from Ford also brings with it a new Ka logo and more pictures of the all-new baby, and details of its Paris Show debut in October. Ford says its successor captures the same youthful and cheeky spirit.

"The new model retains all of the qualities which made the Ka so popular – its compact size, great looks, lively dynamics and fun personality – but presents them in a fresh new package."

New wallpaper added using the new images available here.

NEW Ka - official pictures released

Auto Express has printed what is thought to be the first official pictures of the new 2008 edition of the Ford Ka. Three new pictures, along with more spy shots show a mixture of the Corsa and the Micra, but very little of the original curves which made the original Ford Ka so loved and so different.

The new Ka is the first major re-design since the Ka was released 12 years ago. It shares engines with the Fiat 500 and is being built in the same factory in Poland.

Auto Express says there will be a choice of 63bhp 1.2-litre and 100bhp 1.4-litre petrol engines, as well as a 1.3-litre Multijet diesel. The latter will be good for 75bhp and 145Nm of torque, while returning more than 50mpg.

No word yet on a Sport-Ka or Street-Ka edition, but the magazine jints a ST with at least 150bhp is in the pipeline.

The debut will take place at the Paris Motor Show in September, and we'll bring you pictures from the event as soon as we can. Read the full article here.

Brazil site launched for the new Ka

A new website has been launched - what appears to be the first official Ford site promoting the new 2008 edition of the Brazilian Ford Ka. The flash website takes users on a tour of the new car, guided by a bee along with fish, astronauts and a dog with a hat on.

Visit the site by clicking here.

Closest thing to Ka-zyness

Auto Express, and subsequently other motor magazines have printed the latest pictures they claim will be the final shape of the new Ka for 2008. Ford have quite a few months to finalise the UK version though, with the official debut for the all-new Ka expected at the Paris Motor Show in September, with the first showroom-ready models arriving before the end of the year.

MyKa.org forum members are already dismissing the images as photoshop creations and are not too keen on the latest pictures below:

The new Ka - details revealed

Autotrader is claiming a world exclusive with details and pictures of the new Ford Ka, due for release before the end of 2008. The first sighting of the new model will be in Paris at the motorshow in September.

For some reason, Autotrader has a very positive review of the new style, but many Ka lovers have already took a dislike. Even the "Ka" logo has changed. Sorry Ford, you can do better than that. Where is the uniqueness the Ka is famous for? This new car looks like a bad copy of the City Rover.

Click here for the full link.

New Ka spotted in Nurburgring?

Another website is reporting sightings of the new Ford Ka, based on the Fiat 500. Wheels24.co.za is reporting that Alfredo Altvilla, in charge of new business projects at Fiat, said the Ford's unveiling was delayed by about six months because the Italian company had already started development of the 500 before Ford came on board.

'The cars will also share engines - 1.2- and 16-valve 1.4-litre petrol units, and a 1.3-litre Multijet with diesel particulate filter. All engines will be Euro 5 compliant.'

http://www.wheels24.co.za/Wheels24/News/Future_Models/0,,1369-1372-2096_2188196,00.html

A blogger has published pictures, with an unknown source, of a CGI image of what could be the new Ka, ready to be released by Ford in 2008. The pictures of the Green Ka bares very little resemblance to the current Ka, and is not expected to go down well with current Ka lovers.

You can see the pictures and read more by clicking here.
